I think it's really just a bad link/topic? Can someone point me at a valid top on creating a layout? I imagine I can fumble through it, but there are a number of ways to do this it seems, and though there are images posted with various game layouts, these are all. Trouble is, this brings up an empty topic with the words "You are not authorized to view this forum", though - well, I am a licensed user and clearly have an ID, etc. In the do-it-right-now mode, I am using this post - first thing noticed is that, before you can copy profile info, you must create a controller layout, and a link is provided ( ). Only if you click on "Do not save" or if you force Xpadder to close via the Task Manager or a system shutdown, Profiles or Controller Layout can get lost. If you click on "New" to create a new profile or close Xpadder completely, Xpadder will ask you if you want to save possible unsaved changes. Alternatively you can click on the area that shows the name of the current profile, to select from a list of your 4 last used profiles. To load a profile, click in the profile menu on "Open." and select the profile. If you click on it the old file will be overwritten, but note that Xpadder will not ask before that. If you can click on "Save" (it's not grayed out) in the profile menu, then this profile already exists somewhere as a file. The next time you want to save or load a profile, this last used folder will directly be opened. You can save it directly next to the Xpadder.exe, in an new folder called for example "Profiles" (I have different folders for my different controllers) or under "My documents". A windows opens that should show the folder with the Xpadder.exe, now you can select where to save the profile and give it a name. After a while it worked much better than the gamepad, but I would still say that the gamepad works pretty well fo DCS.Open the profile menu and click on "Save as.". When I switched to a TM Warthog HOTAS just last year I was a bit disappointed first, because it (or rather I) didn't performed as well as with the Xbox360 pad but that was just because I wasn't used to the HOTAS. Just the collective which I assigned to the two digital shoulder buttons (RB and LB) was a bit sluggerish. I also used the gamepad for the Huey for a while which also worked quite well. I had almost full HOTAS-control like on the real thing (except pinky switch and speedbrake) and with some curvatures for the sticks it even flew pretty well. Overall, it actually worked pretty well that way. The X and Y key worked as modifiers as well as normal buttons in combination with other modifiers. I used the Back, Select, X and Y buttons as modifiers to be able to assign all the 4-way switches to either the digi-pad or the coloured buttons as well as the two-way switches to the shoulder buttons. I played DCS A-10C with an Xbox360 controller for quite some years. txt so i will try and find somewhere else to host them if anyone wants themįinal Su-25T Xbox controler.txt Edited Apby jib I don't seem to be able to upload the profiles here even after renaming them. I might reconfigure the profile a bit now. Anyone know of a good, free easy to use system to convert the trigger axis to key presses?Įdit: I figured out how to use a little program call JoytoKey seems like the just the job I wish they was an easy way to use the triggers for firing the cannons and releasing weapons, a lot of the keyboard emulators I have downloaded are rubbish, don't work at all or have viruses in. I have only done the SU-25T and the F-15C but the rest should be easy now I have worked out the "formula". The two bumper buttons and the start and back buttons are modifiers which allows for a great deal of combinations (you just have to remember them) that's why I made these help full key cards I am pleased with the way it has gone and I can fly quite well and make kills with this set up with almost no use of the keyboard at all. So I have saved them the effort and made them some profiles to use with it. I am Trying to get a couple of my friends to fly online with me, they are good gamers with high end pcs but "don't do flight Sims" so haven't got any flight joysticks or Trackir but what they have got is Wireless Xbox controller adapters.
